God Is Always Building You Up – Even When It Feels Like You’re Breaking Down

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” – Psalm 28:7

Life has a way of testing us in ways we never expect. One moment, everything feels secure and promising, and the next, we’re facing obstacles that make us question if we’re even on the right path. It’s in those moments of struggle—when it feels like everything is falling apart—that God is actually building us up.

The Breakdown Before the Breakthrough

When we go through trials, it’s easy to wonder, Why is this happening to me? But what if the breaking isn’t meant to destroy you—what if it’s meant to strengthen you? Just like a sculptor chips away at a block of marble to reveal something beautiful, God is refining you, molding you, and preparing you for the purpose He’s placed in your heart.

Psalm 28:7 reminds us that God is both our strength and our shield. He doesn’t just leave us to figure things out on our own—He strengthens us from within and protects us from what we cannot see. Even when we feel weak, He is working. Even when things don’t go as planned, He is guiding.

Without the Struggle, We Wouldn’t Be Here

Think about the moments in your life that have shaped you the most. Chances are, they weren’t the easy ones. It was the challenges, the heartbreaks, the disappointments, and the setbacks that pushed you to grow. If it weren’t for the struggles, you wouldn’t be as strong, as wise, or as prepared for the blessings that are coming your way.

God never allows pain without purpose. Every storm, every delay, every “no” you’ve received was making room for something greater. And when we trust Him—even when we don’t understand—we allow Him to take what was meant to break us and use it to build us into who we’re called to be.

Hold On to His Strength

If you’re in a season where it feels like things are crumbling around you, remember that God is still in control. Trust Him. Lean on Him. Let Psalm 28:7 be your reminder that He is your strength when you feel weak and your shield when you feel unprotected.

You are not breaking—you are being rebuilt. And when you come out on the other side, you’ll look back and realize that every struggle was just another step toward the person God always intended you to be.

Keep trusting. Keep believing. Your breakthrough is coming.
